    Don’t the gatekeepers protect just protect one version of professionalism? And I ask this rhetorical question knowing that it is overwhelmingly the case that their version of professionalism has much more to do with factors other than the work product of the researcher.

    Knox is pointing at ‘differences which can make a difference’ due to social network effects and, implicitly, ad hoc infrastructure.
